Kristen is a Civil War historian from the highly-contentious border state of Missouri. Born in Kansas City and growing up in Wildwood, Kristen received her Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Civil War Era Studies from Gettysburg College and is completing her Master of Arts degree in Nonprofit Leadership and Management from Webster University in St. Louis. Prior to serving as Programming Coordinator at the Missouri Civil War Museum in historic Jefferson Barracks, Kristen has worked at Harpers Ferry National Historical Park, the Gettysburg Foundation, and the Civil War Institute at Gettysburg College.
Kristen’s focus of study is in Civil War medicine, analyzing the experiences of common soldiers and surgeons serving on the battlefields, in camp, and in the hospitals. She also studies Missouri in the war.
